Who We Are

Community Health Services and Development Officers Association (CHESOA) was formed in July 2017 by community health professionals offering services at Level 1 (Community Level). The key actors include Community Health Volunteers, Community Health Committees, Community Health Officers (CHOs) and Assistants (CHAs), County and Sub County Community Health Services Coordinators and the Partners implementing various activities related to health and development. The Association provides advocacy, public policy, promotion and education, as well as resources and networking opportunities for its members. A total of 2100 Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs) were employed by the Ministry of Health in June, 2011 for a 3year contract.
